Eligibility
Enrolment Eligibility for Yattalunga Valley Christian School (YVCS)
To enrol at YVCS, your child must have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1 or 2). This diagnosis is to be supported by a formal assessment and the report of diagnosis, from a Psychiatrist or Clinical Psychologist using the DSM-5, should include:
- Evidence of persistent impairment in reciprocal social communication and social interaction, as well as restricted repetitive patterns of behaviour, interest and activities.
- Information relating to diagnosis with or without cognitive impairment and with or without accompanying language impairment.
- These indicators must be present from early childhood and limit or impair everyday functioning in a classroom, with impact on education, behaviour, or both.
- The report of diagnosis must be no more than 2 years old at the time of enrolment.
YVCS will be catering for Kindergarten to Year 5 in 2025, and we are accepting expressions of interest for Year 6 2025. Further stages will be considered for following years.
